On Thursday 27th August 2026, Deftones bring their genre-melting, GRAMMY-winning force to the Royal Highland Showgrounds for Edinburgh Summer Sessions, with Bristol powerhouses IDLES opening. If you like your gigs heavy, atmospheric and completely overwhelming, this is the one.

Nearly four decades in, Deftones show zero signs of slowing down. 2025's "private music" proved they're still pushing forward, not coasting on "White Pony" nostalgia — though don't worry, the classics will absolutely be in the set too. Chino Moreno and co. build a wall of sound that swings from crushing to dreamlike within a single song, and live, it hits like nothing else.

IDLES need no introduction at this point. Their 2024 album "TANGK" turned raw punk energy into something bigger — love, joy and resistance delivered at full volume. Anyone who caught them at Glasgow's OVO Hydro knows exactly what kind of chaos they bring to a support slot.

Edinburgh is one of only three cities added to Deftones' summer run outside their main tour, and it's their second Scottish appearance in under a year — expectations are sky-high, and rightly so. Doors from 5pm, an outdoor Edinburgh evening, and two of the most vital heavy bands on the planet on one stage.
